Mindil Beach Sunset Markets

Darwin accommodation

Mindil Beach Sunset Markets run in the dry season from the last Thursday & Sunday in April until the last Thursday & Sunday in October each year.

In 2011 the first market will be held on Thursday 28th April and will be run every Thursday and Sunday until Thursday 27th October.

The markets are ideally located at Mindil Beach and you will soon see when you experience the beautiful sunsets and the relaxed tropical setting in this vibrant and friendly environment.

Started in 1987 by six friends whose vision was to bring a taste of the Asian style night markets to Darwin. With over 300 small businesses supported the markets provide employment for more than 1 000 locals and contributes more than $15million to the NT economy each year.

Held throughout the dry season visitors are exposed to the beautiful arts and crafts of five continents, over 1 200 different menu items spanning those continents, crocodile products, indigenous art and gorgeous jewellery.

Every week the live entertainment is huge with bands, cultural dancers, fire shows, acrobatics, street performers and buskers, so there really isn’t a better place to be on a Thursday or Sunday evening in Darwin.
